What a weekend of football to finish off the 2016 Bendigo Bank Nepean FNL Home & Away Series.

We will start with looking at the Tyabb v Pearcedale game which saw the Yabbies break a 3 year drought with a 37 point victory!!! It was the last round of the 2013 home and away season versus Somerville when the Tyabb song was sung loud and proud. Well done to all involved on finishing the year with a win, it will be like they have won a flag down there and the celebrations will go long into the night.

Somerville were too strong for Crib Point, flying past the their black and white feathered friends by 90 points. A great way to enter into finals.

Frankston and Hastings did battle with the Bombers not giving the Blues a look in all day. Frankston will now enjoy a week off before taking on either Rosebud or Somerville in the 2nd Semi Final at Rye on Saturday the 27th August. While the Blues will take on Red Hill next Sunday at Rosebud in the Elimination Final.

Rosebud will walk into finals full of confidence after a convincing win over Devon Meadows by 82 points. The Buds will take on Somerville at Red Hill next Saturday.

Rye had a fantastic comeback against Dromana to win by 1 point. The Demons came back from 21 points at 3 quarter time to steal the game from the Tigers, in what would have been a Grand Final atmosphere at RJ Rowley.

And in the last game Sorrento finished off their season strongly winning by 55 points over Red Hill. It what wasn’t an idea run into finals but the Hillmen will have to pick themselves up and just move forward on to next Sunday.

A great finish to the 2016 season today in the Netball.

Rye ended Dromana’s chances of finals with a 8 point win over the Tigers. whilst it hasn’t been the best season for the Demons it was a good way to finish off the year.

Ladder leaders Crib Point were too strong for Somerville winning by 33 points. The Eagles will need to think out some way of getting closer to the Magpies, but for the short term a win over Devon Meadows in the 1st Semi next Sunday at Rosebud will be the first hurdle.

Tyabb finished the season off strong, with a 15 point win over Pearcedale. The Yabbies will now take on Crib Point in the 2nd Semi on Sunday at Rosebud. The last time these two met 2 weeks ago, the result was a draw.

Rosebud couldn’t keep up with Devon Meadows going down by 32 points. The Panthers had finals riding on the line and they needed to beat the Buds today to confirm a spot in next weeks 1st Semi.
