Grand Final day in the Nepean FNL and what a day of results. First off in the Under 19’s it was Somerville v Red Hill, and the game produced a classic. 4 points was as big as the margin got for both sides at all of the quarter time breaks. On the final siren, the scores were level forcing the game into extra time, where Red was able to put in two quick goals to seal the game and the 2017 Premiership. Best on Ground was Lachlan Prins from the Hillmen.

In the Reserves, Sorrento was crowned Premiers as they defeated Rosebud by 9 points. The Sharks took a commanding lead at quarter time, by 29 points and increased it to 33 at halftime. You could have said that was it for the Buds, but the clawed themselves back into the game, keeping Sorrento scoreless in the 3rd quarter and kicking 4.6 themselves. In the last Sorrento were just able to keep it out of Rosebud’s reach to claim the 2017¬†flag. Best on Ground went to Nat Diconza – Sorrento

The Seniors it was Sorrento and Frankston who dueled and it was a great slog between the two teams. Sorrento got off to a flying start, while once again early on Frankston wasted their opportunities in front of goal. It was a 25 point lead to the Sharks at halftime, and while the Bombers had glimpses of some sort of comeback, Sorrento just had the answer to anything the Bombers threw their way, eventually running out 2017 Premiers by 14 points. Luke Tapscott was named Best on Ground.
