Weekend Review – Round 10 2017

Round 10 didn’t produce too many surprises, but rather a stern message to the rest of the competition from Sorrento who defeated 2nd place Frankston Bombers by 97 points, Crib Point put in a great effort but Somerville eventually got on top in the second half to run out 53 point winners, Rosebud had a pleasant trip to Pearcedale returning home with the 4 points after a 79 point win, Dromana kept their solid form going with a 45 point win over Rye to retain the O’Rouke-Matthews Cup and in the last game Red Hill was able to return to the winners list with a 42 point win over a gallant Devon Meadows side.

Netball

Round 10 saw some big results happen, most notably Somerville knocking off last year’s premiers Crib Point in their on home court by 5 goals, in the 1 v 2 battle which no doubt will see both sides go deep into the finals. Pearcedale tired all game but fell short against Rosebud by 10 goals, Red Hill was too strong at home for Devon Meadows with a 30 goal win, while Dromana turned things around with a 15 goal win over Rye and in the last game Frankston kept their finals dream alive with a 33 goal win over Sorrento.
