Weekend Review – Round 11 2017

A fantastic weekend of games across the Nepean FNL. Dromana started the day with a 60 point win over Devon Meadows at home, Rosebud flexed their muscles with a 66 point victory over Crib Point at Olympic Oval, Tyabb nearly had their first win of 2017 over Pearcedale, the lead changed several times before the Panthers just got over the line by 4 points, Red Hill made it two wins in a row at home against a spirited Rye outfit by 61 points, Somerville kept their season alive with terrific win over the Frankston Bombers by 8 points, and to obtain the first ‘Bennez’ Ben Hocking Cup, for ‘It’s okay, not to be okay’ round, and in the last game for the second week in a row Sorrento has defeated the 2nd placed team by almost 100 points, this time reigning premier Hastings copped a 94 point football lesson at home.

Netball

Round 11 results for Nepean Netball saw Somerville continue on their merry way with a 31 goal victory over Frankston Bombshells to win the inaugural ‘Bennez’ Ben Hocking Cup. In a thriller at Dromana, Devon Meadows got up by 1 goal, Pearcedale put up a fight but Tyabb ran away with their game by 19 goals, Red Hill was too strong for Rye winning by 44 goals and in the last game Crib Point bounced back from last week’s loss to defeat Rosebud by 35 goals.
