Weekend Review – Round 14 2017

Some big games of footy across the Nepean FNL this round, starting off with Sorrento just holding off a fast finishing Dromana to record their smallest winning margin for this season, defeating the Tigers¬†at their home turf by 8 points. Tyabb will be partying like its 1999 with their upset win over Devon Meadows at the Panther den by 7 points. The lead chopped and changed several times throughout the game, with the Yabbies prevailing. In the local derby between Rosebud and Rye, it was the Bud’s who finally took the points after shaking off a determined¬†Demon’s outfit after 3 quarter time by 58 points. Pearcedale got the better of Crib Point in their match with a 33 point win, Red Hill kept their season alive with a 37 point win over Somerville to stay in touch with the top 5, both sides play 5th placed Dromana in the next two weeks will determine the final 5. The last game of the round was a beauty of a game between Hastings and Frankston where the Bombers were victors by 4 points, only just holding out a Blues comeback.

Netball

Netball action in round 14 saw Devon Meadows take on Tyabb with the Yabbies claiming victory by 24 goals, Dromana was too strong for Sorrento winning by 36 goals, Rosebud had a similar result against Rye defeating their local rivals by 31 goals, while in the last game Red Hill lost to Somerville by 14 goals.
