Football

Round 6 action saw plenty of mixed results. In the first game, Sorrento was not in a sympathetic mood showing no mercy to Tyabb, inflicting a 177 point loss to the Yabbies with former Collingwood/Melbourne forward Chris Dawes bagging 9. Dromana turned it on at home against Pearcedale in a goal feast for the crowd (a total of 34 goals between the two teams) eventually running out 31 points winners, Crib Point couldn’t put inroads to the Frankston Bombers flight path with the Magpies unable to keep up with one of the flag favourites,¬†Frankston landing at the end of the day with a 72 point win. Rosebud and Devon Meadows had a close encounter, with the Bud’s just getting home by 13 points, Red Hill just didn’t have the answers for Hastings, the Blues taking home the 4 points with a 38 point win and in the last game Somerville kept their season on track with a 35 point win over Rye.
