Weekend Review – Round 9 2017

Football

Round 9 action began last Sunday with Dromana causing an upset in their local derby game against Red Hill, defeating the Hillmen by 61 points and also moving into 5th spot. Games played yesterday saw Rye defeat Tyabb by 58 points at the pond, Crib Point notched up their second win of 2017 over Pearcedale by 24 points. Devon Meadows hosted Sorrento and despite holding the lead at quarter time, the Panthers weren’t able to withstand the Sharks onslaught going down by 92 points. Frankston was able to account for a stubborn Rosebud, finally running over the Buds by 13 points and in the last game which would have been the most exciting, Hastings pulled off a 1 point victory in front of rival Somerville.

Netball

In round 9 of Nepean Netball Crib Point continued their winning ways with a 24 goal win over Pearcedale, Devon Meadows proved to be too strong for Sorrento winning by 25 goals, Frankston took on Rosebud to stay in the top four and won by 7 goals, Tyabb had all the tricks of the trade defeating Rye by 52 goals and last Sunday Dromana lost to Red Hill by 30 goals.
